‘Chetna March’ remembers sacrifices of four Saahibzaade

JAMMU, Dec 25: Sikh organisations here today took out a ‘Chetna March’ to commemorate the historical sacrifices of four Saahibzaade (sons of Guru Govind Singh Ji, tenth Guru of Sikhs) and Mata Gujar Kour Ji (mother of Guru Govind Singh Ji).
The March started from the Gurudwara Sahib Nanak Nagar and after passing through different localities culminated at Gurudwara Fateh Singh in Gandhi Nagar.
En-route the March, Sikh preachers lauded the sacrifices of the sons of Guru Govind Singh Ji to aware the masses about great services those martyrs had rendered to the humanity.
They said, of the four Saahibzaade of Guru Govind Singh Ji, Baba Ajit Singh and Baba Jujhar Singh fought bravely in the battle of Chamkaur Sahib till their last breath and after that they embraced martyrdom.
The other two Saahibzaade were Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh and they were buried alive in the walls by the Wazir Khan, the then cruel ruler while Mata Gujar Kour Ji laid her life at Thanda Burj.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of 353rd Prakashotsav of Guru Govind Singh, a grand city kirtan was taken out by the District Central Gurdwara Ramgarh management in Vijaypur today.
A large number of Sikh Sangat participated in the Nagar Kirtan and glorified the dignity of the Guru. The Nagar Kirtan was dispatched as per traditional practice from Gurdwara of  Ramgarh. Apart from the local Gurdwara Unit Committee members, various Gurdwara Management Unit Committees and Sikh Sangat participated in the city kirtan led by Panj Pyaron.
During the special ceremony organized on this occasion, the gathering was encouraged to follow the path shown by the Sangat. In the city kirtan taken out on the occasion of Gurupurab, the words of Juo Bholey Sonihal – Satsri Akar echoed everywhere. A large number of women, men, youth, elders, children participated in the city kirtan and gave evidence of their devotion.
Various Gatka parties mesmerized everyone by performing tricks in Nagar Kirtan. The Ragi-Tadi Jathedars also glorified the glory of the Gurus and showed the path of truth to the sangat. Sikh youth riding a motor cycle, tractor in Nagar Kirtan, also showed amazing feats. In the city Kirtan, devotees earned the virtue of service by placing langar and chhabils in the service of Sangat at various places.
