KATHUA, Feb 21: Chemist and Druggist Association held a meeting, which was presided over by Munish Gupta, Asstt Controller, Drugs, Kathua/Samba and Rajan Kapoor, designated officer under FSSA, Kathua/Samba.
During the meeting, Gupta emphasized upon all the retailers and wholesale medicine traders about the features of the schedule HI, which has been incorporated in the Drugs and Cosmetic Act.
He further informed that the schedule will be in effect from March 1 across India including J&K to curb the use of intoxicant drugs and over the counter use of antibiotics creating resistance in the people.
Gupta directed the chemists that no sale should be done without proper prescription from a doctor and record should be maintained of the sale done.
Rajan Kapoor in his speech said that registration/licensing of all medical wholesale/retail stores is mandatory under FSSA Act. If anybody found without registration/license and dealing in food supplements/products will be dealt as per law, he added.
In the meeting, chemists and druggists from Hiranagar, Basohli, Kathua, Billawar and Bani were present.
