JAMMU, Mar 8: Crime Branch has registered a case against cheaters and revenue officials for preparing fake and fabricated record.
An official spokesman said that a written complaint lodged by Mohd Bashir, son of Mohd Akbar of Jandrola Mandi, Poonch was received in the Crime Branch Jammu through State Vigilance Commission wherein it was alleged that the complainant had a piece of land at village Jandrola which came under the alignment of BRO road.
However, the accused persons Jehangir Khan, Naib Tehsildar Poonch, Mohd Saleem, Patwari and Mohd Akram, retired Girdawar with malafide intention and in furtherance of a criminal conspiracy prepared fake and fabricated report in respect of the land in order to confer undue benefits upon one Nazir Hussain in respect of land acquired for construction of road in excess of his actual share in the land thereby conferred undue benefits upon him. State Vigilance Commission during the course of hearing of the complaint found that the accused persons submitted a factually incorrect report which paved way for conferment of undue benefit upon Nazir Hussain and subsequent wrongful loss to the complainant and wrongful gains to themselves.
Accordingly, the Commission referred the complaint to the Crime Branch which has registered a formal case under the relevant sections of law against the accused persons. The investigation in the case is going on.
