POONCH, Aug 13: The Holy Charri Mubarak Yatra led by Shri Shri 1008 Mahamandleshwar Swami Vishavatmanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj was today taken out from Dashnami Akhara Mandir complex, Poonch to Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Shrine at Rajpura, in Mandi Sub Division today.
The special Puja and Havan amidst chanting of Vedic Mantras was performed at Akhara Mandir, Poonch where besides head priest- Swami Vishavatmanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj, various religious personalities gathered for the performance of traditional rituals and take part in Holy Yatra. Deputy Commissioner, Poonch Rahul Yadav, DIG Rajouri- Poonch Range Vivek Gupta and SSP Poonch, Ramesh Angral and many other officers and civilian dignitaries.
Swami Ji, while addressing the gathering appealed for unity, tranquility, brotherhood and peace in the region.
The event also witnessed participation from community leaders, public representatives who reiterated the message of harmony and brotherhood among people. The Speakers included former Deputy Chairman Legislative Council, Jahangir Mir, Poonch Bar Association president Mohd Zaman, SD Sabha president Satish Sasan among others.
Later, Yatra left for Mandi under tight security arrangements and thousands of people participated in this grand religious programme.
It is said that this ancient Shrine of Lord Shiva, is situated at the place in Himalyas, where Rishi Pulatsya- the grandfather of the King Ravana of Lanka, had worshipped for many decades. Pulast river flowing down from Loran-Mandi mountains of Pir Panjal (Himalyas) to Poonch and PoK has been named after the name of this great Saint.
