Charri Mubarak reaches ‘Kailash Kund’

BHADERWAH, Aug 24: Chari Mubarak which left from Vasuki Nag temple at Gatha in Bhaderwah on August 22, reached Kailash Kund today.
A large number of devotees/ pilgrims from various parts of the State accompanying the Charri had holy dip in the semi-snow clad lake (Kund) on the Himalayas, popularly known as higher reaches of Seoj Dhar. The people of the area believe that by taking bath in icy cold water of this ‘Kund’, several diseases are cured.
An official spokesman said that nearly 40,000 pilgrims from parts of Billawar, Basohli, Bani in Kathua, Dudu-Basantgarh, Ramnagar, Sudh Mahadev, Chenani area from Udhampur and many parts of Doda, Bhaderwah, Ramban and Kishtwar are taking part in this annual Kailash Yatra.
Langars for the devotees/ pilgrims have been set up by Kailash Sewa Sangh Bhaderwah and Annapurna Group at the Kund site which is at more than 14,000 ft height from the sea level.
