RAJOURI, June 16: The Anti-Corruption Bureau Rajouri today produced a chargesheet against Mohd Rashid Khan, Sr Compiler posted in the office of Chief Accounts Officer, GP Fund Rajouri, who was caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe.
Chargesheet against Mohd Rashid Khan, son of Sakhi Waliyat of Mendhar, District Poonch, was produced before the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Rajouri, in case FIR number 44/2017 under section 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(2) of J&K PC Act and section 4-A PC (Amendment) Act, 2014 registered in P/S VOJ (now ACB).
The accused was caught red handed while taking bribe of Rs 10,000/- from complainant Hari Singh of village Hathal, Tehsil Sunderbani for finalizing and clearing his GP Fund case after his retirement. The complainant stated that inspite of the fact that he had completed all the formalities, he was not been given the final clearance certificate. The accused official was compelling him to pay the bribe of Rs 15,000 and demanded the same in two installments of Rs 10,000 as advance and Rs 5000 after completing the work. Accordingly case was registered and a team of ACB Rajouri had successfully trapped the accused red handed accepting the bribe amount of Rs 10,000 from the complainant in presence of independent witnesses and trap team members.
The accused person was arrested on the spot and thereafter released on bail granted by Court. Further investigation conducted by the Anti-Corruption Bureau Rajouri established the allegations of corruption charges against the accused person. After completing the investigation of case, sanction for launching of prosecution of the accused was also obtained from the competent authority. Accordingly Anti-Corruption Bureau Rajouri produced charge sheet against Mohd Rashid Khan son of Sakhi Waliyat of Mendhar, District Poonch before Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Court Rajouri on 16.06.2020.
The next date of hearing in the case has been fixed for 17.08.2020.
