JAMMU, July 5: Special Judge NIA Jammu Suneet Gupta today framed charges against four Hizbul terrorists in RSS activist Chander Kant killing case.
The charges have been framed against Nisar Ahmed Sheikh, Nisar Ahmed Butt, Azad Hussain Bagwan, Parvaiz Ahmed and Rustam Ali Bagwan under Sections 302, 307, 392, 109, 120-B, 34 of RPC and Sections 18/19/39 of UA(P) Act.
Chander Kant and his PSO Rajinder Kumar were killed by the terrorists on 9.4.2019 at OPD Block of District Hospital Kishtwar.
During the investigation, it came to the fore that some members of Hizbul Mujahideen had conspired to strike terror in the minds of the people of Kishtwar by carrying out terrorist acts by targeting persons of particular community . In this regard, a meeting was held in the month of November 2015 at Jamia Marf-e-Islamia School Malipeth Kishtwar, which was attended by Rameez Raja Wani and Qari Manzoor among others.
During the meeting, it was decided to get united for Tahreeq-e-Azadi. Accordingly, some youth were given arms traning in the forest areas of Marwah in the year 2017. One day prior to the killing of Chander Kant Sharma and his PSO, a meeting of HM terrorists was held at the rented house of accused Zahid Hussain at Asarabad wherein accused Osama-bin-Javed, Haroon Abbas Wani, Zahid Hussain, Nissar Ahmed Sheikh and Tahir Ahmed Bhat had conspired to kill Chander Kant Sharma.
It is worthwhile to mention here that during the investigation of the present case, the accused persons Osama-bin-Javed and Zahid Hussain were killed during an encounter with the security forces on 28th Sept 2019 within the jurisdiction of Police Station Batote and in this regard an FIR No 84/2019 was registered.
Similarly, the accused Haroon Abbas Wani was killed during an encounter with the security forces on 15th January 2020 at Doda. In this regard, an FIR No.06/2020 was registered. As such, the proceedings against the accused persons Osama-bin-Javed , Haroon Abbas Wani and Zahid Hussain have been abated vide order dated 18.11.2020 after recording satisfaction about their deaths.
