JAMMU, Oct 20: Special Judge CBI Court Srinagar Jatinder Singh Jamwal has framed corruption charges against Shariq Hussain Khan, an official in J&K Grameen Bank Kupwara for misappropriation of Rs 1.33 crore.
According to the CBI case, a complainant namely Farhan Gul, Senior Manager (Audit Inspection and Vigilance), in Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank on January 15, 2020 submitted that Shariq Hussain Khan during his previous posting at branch office Khumariyal had misappropriated funds to the tune of Rs 1.33 crore by way of manipulating the bank”s computer system and other documents.
During the investigation, the act was prima facie established by the investigating agency.
After hearing PP Kapil verma for the CBI, the Special Judge CBI observed, “this court is satisfied that prima-facie the accused appears to have committed the offences punishable under Sections 409,420 and 471 of RPC, offence made punishable under Section 65 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the offence made punishable under Section 5(2) of the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, Svt. 2006 read with Sections 5(1)(c) & (d) of the Act”.
“The accused is formally charge-sheeted for commission of these offences”, the court said.
