UDHAMPUR, Mar 30: Police today arrested two drug peddlers and seized more than one kilogram Charas from their possession at Chenani.
The arrest was made during a special naka at Chenani by a police party from Kud Police Station, led by SHO Ajit Singh. During checking of vehicles, Police noticed suspicious movement of two persons namely Mukhtiar Ahmed of Topa Rajouri and Mukhtiar Ahmed of Dharal, Rajouri. They were moving towards Jammu on foot and on being questioned, they admitted of smuggling Charas weighing one kg and 100 gms, which was recovered from their possession.
Both the smugglers were arrested and a case FIR No. 27/2013 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered in this regard at Police Station Chenani.
