Charanjeet resigns as president Wine Traders Association

Jammu, May 16: Jammu Wine Traders Association President, S. Charanjeet Singh today resigned as president of the Association. He had prolonged tenure of 6 years.
He was unanimously appointed as the president in 2014 for a period of 2 years and after successful completion, members again unanimously extended his tenure and after that he was serving as president of the Jammu Wine Traders Association till date. During his tenure, he helped almost all the traders with their respective issues and made his best efforts to solve their issues in compliance with the Finance department, Excise and Taxation Department.
In his tenure, he took initiative of Corpus Social Responsibility fund with the Excise Department in 2015-16, in which each licensee has to contribute Rs. 2500 per month towards Social Responsibility in compliance with the Excise department. This CSR fund was later used by the Excise Department for donating Ambulances, running certain Drug de-addiction programs and also in pandemics like COVID- 19 in which Association and Excise department jointly donated Rs. 2 crores in PMCARES fund.
A working committee under his chairmanship, comprising of Digvijay Singh, Rajesh Dewan, Baldev Khullar, Sanjay Verma, Deepak Slathia and Muninder Singh has been constituted for the working of the Association in compliance with the Excise department till further elections.
The committee will take care of the further election process as the current situation due to this pandemic COVID-19 normalizes.
He thanked all the members of Jammu Wine Traders Association for their timely support and encouragement and will be there for further assistance and guidance if and when required in times to come.
