India has prominently figured in the world news for the last three years for a number of reasons, the prominent among which are :-
* The rise of NDA
* The charismatic presentations and projections by the P.M and
* Effective foreign policy management.
On the domestic front, a few things done did probably neither occur to the earlier regimes nor did perhaps they had the courage to act. As of now, the country is under the focus of the international community for its robust action plan and futuristic objectives of maintaining the momentum of high growth and stability.
The elections of 2014 witnessed the fierce campaign which last for more than a year prior to the elections. In many a ways it proved to be a one sided campaign dominated by NDA ( more particularly the BJP whose star campaigner Mr. Modi) was successful in selling his ideas for bringing Achhe Din for the masses as the other parties did not have much to sell to the voters except anti -BJP propaganda. These parties utterly failed to present a vision and a development programme for the future. Their leaders could not build a wave length synchronizing with that of the common man. On the other hand the BJP and its allies successfully and effectively canvassed their agenda and convincingly managed to win the confidence of the electorate.
During the second innings of UPA, the country did not remain upbeat on political front, because the administration got involved in sorting out the large number of scams that rocked the country. The NDA took full advantage of this situation and convinced the countrymen that a change of gaurd, at the centre, was immediately needed to put the affairs of the country on the right course. Mr. Modi had succeeded in selling his Gujarat model of development as an outstanding achievement of his Government and had already earned accolades from across the world. Showcasing his Gujarat model as an efficient and effective sales manager, he earned the confidence of his people in the state and attracted the countrymen, in other states to his line of thinking and action. The graph of NDA as a result of this successful planning, rose exponentially and yielded high dividends to NDA at the hustings.
With the rise of NDA at the centre, the world perception about India and its leadership changed towards greater optimism, about India emerging for a bigger role at the global level. Mr. Modi has remarkably conducted himself at the international level both as a statesman and as also a global leader with a clear perception and a bold expression of strong actions needed to be taken by the leaders of the world to curb movements aimed at destabilizing the world community and dehumanizing the society to spread unrest far and wide across the globe,
The two recent foreign visits of the PM to the U.S and Israel brought about a new realization at the global level of India embarking upon a bold foreign policy aimed at recognition by the world of India being capable of playing a decisive role in the new world order. The warmth shown by the two leaders is indicative of the fact that India is at the thresh hold of a new era in which it will get greater space and say in the world affairs. The Israeli visit took place at a time when China was flexing its muscles at the border and indecently trying to intimidate India by reminding it of the deceitful role that China played in 1962. The world countries as also our own country reacted very sharply to humble China. In a new global order where there are many new actors to play a significant role in shaping the new wordscape, China was made to recognize the changing world scenario. The worldscape is changing and new global permutations and combinations are taking place. Russia is an old and trusted friend of India and this position will remain unaltered in the days to come. The thickness of relationship with America and European Union, on the one hand, and growing friendship with Israel, on the other places India in a focal position in this new worldscape. It is India that will play a significant role in the Asian continent and China will have to remain within its won confines without browbeating its neighbours much less India which has become several times mightier than what it was in 1960’s . It is not only the renewed and objective understanding that India is developing with America and Israel, it is also the weaning influence of China in the south east Asian countries which are forcefully resisting Chinese interventions and leaning towards India to weave new path ways towards growth and stability. Even the tiny countries like Mongolia and Bhutan stand firm on their resolve and not to succumb to browbeating by the mighty China. The Worldscape is undergoing a significant change, both, for political and economic reasons. Both America and Israel, on the one hand, and European union and G- 20 countries on the other, see a better economic prospect in India keeping in view the length and breadth of Indian middle class market and at the same time the advantages of Make in India initiative which ensures them cheap labour and efficient skill force to facilitate their Industrial expansion.
The changing worldscape is a pointer towards building a terror free world where peace will be at a premium and all threats of war will be discounted effectively by the world countries. India has successfully conveyed its inherent desire of a peaceful world as enshrined in its epics from time immemorial. Let the message of peace and stability be taken in the right spirit and in the right earnest as well. Let the humanity move up to higher levels of glory and divinity. The changing worldscape will favourably keep pace with this new awakening.
In the continuity of history, there arise situations that throw up individuals or institutions to play a historical role in shaping the worldscape by their creative instinct and courageous pursuit of the goals set before themselves. Human limitations apart, there is a visible change in the international sphere that has been brought about by the Indian contribution in the past few years. The world countries will watch very keenly and closely, the emerging India and its role in the global context. Be it political, economic or social, changes do occur in the worldscape and those who spearhead it emerge as global leaders and the country is poised for it, other things remaining normal. The world will benefit by taking a rational view of the transforming worldscape.
