Developments which had taken place in the state and across country has brought sharp reactions for political players in the state . With return to peace getting expedited because of num we of factors, largely because of excellent strategic efforts by security forces and NIA investigations which drained inflow of funding for terror and Separatism and also initially because of Effect of Demonitization the fake currency in circulation got dried up . The return to peace this time is different quantitatively as also qualitatively . This time it’s not cycle of peace or frustration of people or economical hardship which is bringing back peace like in past but this time it is result of positive and concerted efforts and strong resolve of a stronger Central Govt to deal with Kashmir problem the way it should have been.
While strong hand is working in containing and eliminating terror and sense of insecurity , the caring other hand is also seen at work which is assigning Keen listener and experienced Interolucutor who can install confidence of masses that Govt cares about it’s subject and Kashmiris are Indians first . Letting off first time Stone pelters as a policy demonstrates the good will of the Central Govt not to treat instigated youth as Criminals and giving them one more chance to rectify their mistake . Such concession is however only for first time offenders and not for Habitual or professional stone pelters .
The change in the air however has taken aback the Separatists and their supporters or even the political parties trying to be seen closer to Separatists for political gains . In order to appease Separatist leadership, reckless and anti national or anti social statements are being given by people who only till yesterday were the Bearers of nationalism and national flag buy who seem to be changing colours when out of powers . Their statements and effects thereof is being closely watched by people to be responded in electoral process , through which public speak .
Financial stability of the state is however a big concern . How long the state will continue to be dependent financially on central aids . It’s really tragic the independent financial stability if the state has never been worked on and successive regimes has only maintained a dependency status quo . With vast mineral resources and huge infrastructural potentials , we are still dependent on only tourism and handicrafts etc for revenue . Non existence of skilled labour in the state has devastated industrial base and has also largely effected employment scenario in the State.
Central Govt has launched number of people friendly schemes but it’s impact is not coming fully to state because of unnecessary barrier of exclusiveness. Phobia of erosion of Art 370 is not allowing the state to move on . Central schemes and projects been seen with suspicion , will lead to exclusion in progress. State should have a separate ministry or department to implement central schemes and to ask local entrepreneurs to invest and take benefits of central schemes. While in other states investments of crores have been made under skill India and army of skilled workers is being created for mutual benefits, the same is lacking in our state . In large number of cases the investments are on papers to take benefits which needs investigations. Similarly large colonies have been developed in others states in private sectors under Prime Minister’s scheme but nothing of worth has been done on state by local developers. Outsiders won’t be allowed as it will effect self projected cause of separate identity of many.
The state has to shed the black blanket of status quo to move on with times and take advantage of changing times to be self sufficient financially. Dependency for finances even for small development issues is hitting self esteem and pride . Our culture is based on self respect and confidence. We don’t find local beggars on streets except the State Govt.
