Chana futures remain weak on rising arrivals

NEW DELHI, Apr 29:  Chana remained weak for the second day and prices fell 0.47 per cent to Rs 3,175 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions, triggered by a rising arrivals from producing regions.
Besides, sluggish demand in the spot market further fuelled the downtrend.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in June fell further by Rs 15, or 0.47 per cent to Rs 3,175 per quintal with an open interest of 67,340 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in May shed Rs 10, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 3,116 per quintal in 91,990 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators following higher arrivals from producing regions mainly kept pressure on chana prices at futures trade. (PTI)
