Chana futures remain up on strong demand

NEW DELHI, Jan 4:  Chana prices rose further by 1.18 per cent to Rs 4,104 per quintal in futures trade today as participants engaged in building up positions, taking positive cues from spot market on rising demand from dal mills.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in January gained Rs 48, or 1.18 per cent, to Rs 4,104 per quintal with an open interest of 21,630 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in March contracts traded higher by Rs 30, or 0.78 per cent, at Rs 3,875 per quintal in 76,040 lots.
Analysts said, expansion in positions by participants owing to increased demand from dal mills against restricted arrivals from producing belts kept chana prices higher in futures trade. (PTI)
