NEW DELHI, Aug 19: Amid rising demand in spot markets, chana prices rose by 0.66 per cent to Rs 2,901 per quintal in futures market today as speculators enlarged positions.
However, reports of favourable weather conditions in the major producing regions, restricted the gains.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in August up by Rs 19, or 0.66 per cent to Rs 2,901 per quintal with an open interest of 10,010 lots.
In the similar fashion, the commodity for delivery in September moved up by Rs 19, or 0.65 per cent to Rs 2,928 per quintal in 1,65,110 lots.
Analysts increased positions built-up by speculators amidst festive season demand in spot markets, mainly kept chana prices higher for the second day at futures trade. (PTI)
