NEW DELHI, May 27: On a winning streak, chana prices rose further 0.28 per cent to Rs 4,730 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions, mostly supported by lower output estimates in key growing regions.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in July gained Rs 13, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 4,730 per quintal with an open interest of 68,160 lots.
In a similar fashion, the commodity for delivery in June contracts traded higher by Rs 12, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 4,635 per quintal in 99,350 lots.
Analysts said lower output estimates due to unseasonal rains in key producing regions amid pick-up in demand in the spot market mainly influenced chana prices in futures trade. (PTI)
