NEW DELHI, Nov 19: Chana prices moved down by 1.33 per cent to Rs 3,182 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators trimmed holdings due to sluggish demand in the spot market.
Expectations of higher output this season on favourable weather conditions further weighed on chana futures prices here.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in December fell Rs 43, or 1.33 per cent, to Rs 3,182 per quintal with an open interest of 96,450 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in November lost Rs 32, or 1.04 per cent, to Rs 3,032 per quintal in 920 lots.
Analysts said adequate supplies from producing regions at spot market against sluggish demand mainly kept pressure on chana prices at futures trade. (PTI)
