SRINAGAR, Sept 27: The Chairman, State Legal Services Authority (SLSA), Justice Varinder Singh and Justice Ali Mohammad Margay, Administrative Judge for Pulwama today inaugurated legal care and support centre for flood victims to be manned by the core group constituted by Chairman, District Legal Services Authority at Pulwama.
During the function, flood victims came up with their grievances pertaining to water logging, shelter, drinking water etc. and the Judges apprised them of their rights.
The Judges gave on the spot directions to district administration for early redressal of the grievances.
The Chairman, SLSA and Justice Margay also visited a relief camps established by DLSA, Pulwama at  Ukhoo, Kakapora, Frestbal, Kadlabal Pampore where the Judges also heard the grievances of the flood victims.
The job of the core groups is to supervise distribution of relief material, health care, need of women, availability of food etc.
The Judges interacted with representatives of insurance companies and impressed upon them to assess the insurance claims of flood victims sympathetically without pressing for cumbersome formalities.
Later, the Judges visited EDI complex, Pampore and took stock of the mode and manner of relief distribution.  They impressed upon the officers to ensure distribution among affected on equality basis by developing a mechanism where no needy person should suffer.
Principal District Sessions Judge, Pulwama, Jawad Ahmad, who is also Chairman, DLSA, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Pulwama, Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama, officers of   civil and police accompanied the Judges during the visit.
