JAMMU, Oct 18: Apostle of humanity Sudarshan Kumar Mahajan, Chairman of KC Group and one of the most eminent personages of Jammu and Kashmir passed away today.
Son of an illustrious father late Ram Chand Mahajan who had dedicated his entire life to the service of community in his capacity as a philanthropist, political leader and industrialist, Sudarshan Mahajan in his long life span of 84 years carried forward the banner of humanity of KC Group with unwavering determination and devotion and left behind a legacy that would always remain as the most glorious epoch in the history of a legendary clan named after Kishan Chand Mahajan, grandfather of Sudarshan Mahajan.
The entire life of Sudarshan Mahajan, fondly known as Nichu, can be described as the concrete manifestation and articulation of precept of a Karma Yogi in the Bhagvada Gita “The conduct of a true man of action turns into a beacon light for the rest of humanity which follows his footsteps with utmost devotion”.
Beginning his career in the forties of the previous century, he elevated the reputation of his timber company by making it one of the leading timber industries in the country. He was the leading light behind the formation of the KC Educational Society under the aegis of which and as its Chairman, he first set up KC Public School in 1997 and then went on to start KC College of Education and KC Law College in the early years of the first decade of the new millennium. All the three institutions, as of today, have turned into the most reputed centres of learning in the State under his leadership and guidance.
