JAMMU, Apr 29: Police today foiled the chain snatching attempt with the arrest of a youth in Bishnah.
Police spokesman said that, a lady namely Geeta Devi, wife of Ashok Kumar of Kulha Basti, Bishnah hired an auto and a youth identified as Amandeep Singh of Phinder was also in the auto.
As soon as the lady elevated from the vehicle, the youth started following her and after covering some distance, the youth stopped the lady and tried to snatch her gold chain, but was stopped by the lady.
The lady raised hue and cry but the youth tried to flee. He was apprehended by the police after a chase.
A case under Section 382, 341 and 511 RPC has been registered at Bishnah police station and investigation started.
