JAMMU, June 11: As per the already announced programme, AIIMS Coordination Committee is going to start chain hunger strike from tomorrow and would decide future course of action on June 13.
In a statement issued here today, Chairman of the AIIMS Coordination Committee and president of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu, Advocate Abhinav Sharma said that he has rejected the Chief Minister’s invitation for meeting of civil society on June 13.
Mr Sharma has conveyed to the Chief Minister that he would hold meeting on AIIMS issue only if all the members of the Coordination Committee are invited. “The matter is very sensitive and it needs to be discussed and clinched in the presence of members of Coordination Committee”, he said.
He stated that the chain hunger strike will start from tomorrow near the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh near Tawi Bridge and members of almost 100 non political organizations will be sitting on the hunger strike every day.
“The hunger strike as announced earlier will be followed by some radical action, including dharnas in front of the ministers’ houses as well as their gherao. The Coordination Committee will see to it that those who cheated the people of Jammu province by shifting the AIIMS from Jammu to Kashmir and shelving the Tawi artificial lake project are taught lesson”, he said.
Advocate Abhinav Sharma said that the members of the Coordination Committee will meet on June 13 at Bar room of JKHCBA to chalk out the future course of action which will go on side by side with the chain hunger strike. He said that teams would be sent to different districts to mobilize public opinion against the anti-Jammu elements.
