CET conducted for UG courses in SKUAST- J

JAMMU, June 26: The Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) today conducted Combined Entrance Test (CET) – 2016.
A total of 1983 candidates appeared in the entrance test for admission to 215 Undergraduate seats in Agriculture Sciences, Veterinary Sciences and Biotechnology. Compared to CET -2015, there was a rise of 19 percent students appearing in CET 2016. Girls outnumbered the boys. Percentage of girls appearing in the CET was 62 and boys 38.
In all, 2169 students had applied for these three undergraduate programmes and out of them, more than 92 percent of the applicants appeared in the entrance test.
For the last four years, SKUAST Jammu has been conducting its own CET for admission to the professional Undergraduate courses offered by it.
CET 2016 was held at the SKUAST Jammu campuses at R S Pura and Chatha, and at Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar. The entrance test passed off without any untoward incident.
Prof Pradeep K Sharma, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST Jammu visited the test centers at Chatha to oversee the conduct of CET and expressed satisfaction over arrangements for the same.
The result of CET-2016 is expected to be announced within a week, said a handout, issued by SKUAST-J.
