JAMMU: Chief Electoral Officer of Jammu and Kashmir, Shantmanu, today convened a meeting of ERO’s of Samba and Kathua districts in connection with special summary revision of electoral rolls.
The exercise has been started for universal enrolment of eligible voters with January 1, 2016 as qualifying date.
The CEO enquired about the SVEEP programmes being implemented in districts and stressed on organizing programmes up to October 15, 2015 wherein all voters, political parties can apply for addition, deletion and correction of voters.
Mr Shantmanu also stressed on intensifying awareness and motivational activities to ensure that people get enrolled and vote at the time of elections. He however, directed to do reconciliation and provide audit clearance certificates for previous elections. (AGENCIES)
