SRINAGAR, July 12 : CEO Prasar Bharati, Jawhar Sircar accompanied by Member Personal, Brig. V. A. M. Hussain, Director General Doordarshan, Tripurari Sharan and Director General All India Radio, L. D. Mandloi today called on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and discussed various matters relating to the Prasar Bharati, Doordarshan and All India Radio functioning in the State.
The Chief Minister underlined the need for making programmes more interesting, attractive and educative for general people particularly students. He said that Prasar Bharati has an important role in the dissemination of vital information pertaining to progress, development and other economic activities taking place in the country and the State. It has also significant role in keeping people aware of the happenings in the country and the State and educating them about new initiatives and measures taken by the Government for the welfare of people.
Omar Abdullah said that Doordarshan and All India Radio should incorporate more interactive programmes under various categories involving general people in debates and discussions on various socio-economic topics.
