RAJOURI, May 5: Two teachers from Thannamandi Zone have been placed under suspension in district Rajouri for remaining absent from duty.
Reports said Chief Education Officer Rajouri Mohd Hafiz ordered the suspension of two teachers for unauthorized absence from duty at Government Middle School Chaprandar, in Zone Thannamandi.
The action was taken when during a surprise inspection by the CEO on May 5, found two teachers-Mohd Imran and Shareen Dar, absent without prior authorization. Terming the act as gross dereliction of duty and a violation of service norms, the CEO invoked provisions under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules and placed both officials under immediate suspension.
Both the suspended teachers will be entitled to subsistence allowance as admissible under rules. During the suspension period, Mohd Imran has been attached to Middle School Namblan, Zone Rajouri, while Shareen Dar has been attached to Govt High School Manyal, Zone Thannamandi.
Further, the Head of Institution (HOI) of Middle School Chaprandar has been directed to submit a detailed explanation within two days regarding the lapse in maintaining discipline and effective supervision of staff.
