SHOTOPA (KARGIL), June 26: The District Consultative Committee/District Level Review meeting of Kargil District was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Executive Officer/Deputy Commissioner Kargil Fida Hussain at Conference Hall Baroo.
Presenting the progress under Annual Credit Plan, Nawang Tsering, District Manager Lead Bank informed that the total deposits of all banks operating in the district stood at Rs 698.77 crore and total advances stood at Rs 37.77 percent over the year March 2013 indicating a growth of 18.57 percent.
Under District Credit Plan 2012-13, against a target of Rs 75.55 crore the Banks have disbursed loans amounting to Rs 106.70 crore which is an achievement of 141 percent of the Annual Credit plan and out of which Rs 21.64 crores under Agriculture Sector, Rs 29.98 crore under MSMF, Rs 19.14 crore under other priority sector and Rs 35.94 crore under non priority sector. A total number of 4650 cases were disbursed under KCC Scheme in the district as on 31-03-2013.
Addressing the meeting Fida Hussain, expressed satisfaction on the overall achievements of banks in the District Credit Plan 2012-13 but showed his displeasure over the low performance by some of the banks in the disbursement of Kissan Credit Cards which is a priority of the Government. He stressed upon the issuance of KCC to all eligible farmers in the district for which camps should be organized at village level for on-spot disbursal.
Representatives of RBI stressed for GoI, MOF directives for coverage of un-banked villages, provision of banking services in villages with population below 2000 and launch of campaign under “Swabhimaan” for opening of one bank account for each family.
