Centre yet to release PMGSY funds

JAMMU, May 28: The Centre Government has sanctioned highest amount of Rs 3800 crore this year under Prime Minister’s Grameen Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in view of past performance of the State Government particularly the Works Department.
Works Minister Naeem Akhter said the Centre has evaluated past performance of the Works Ministry of Jammu and Kashmir Government and sanctioned highest amount for this year.
“The amount has been sanctioned and not released so far,” he said, adding that that several works under the PMGSY were progressing smoothly.
Akhter said his Government has given repeated reminders to the Centre for release of funds under the PMGSY but they haven’t been released so far.
