BISHNAH, Oct 15: Senior Congress leader MK Bhardwaj has said that BJP-led Central and PDP-BJP combine State Governments have miserably failed to keep their promises made to the people particularly related to their safety, security, providing corruption-free administration and above all controlling price-hike.
Felicitating people of the state, particularly from Bishnah, PCC executive committee members at an impressive function held here to celebrate the festive season, said that the two governments have robbed the people of the traditional glitter and happiness of Diwali in view of severe economic crisis due to Narendra Modi Government’s failed demonetisation of currency and ill-conceived GST policies.
Expressing happiness that soon Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi would take over as the party president, Mr Bhardwaj said that due to his untiring efforts people are once again looking towards the Congress. This has been testified by the party and its youth wing registering victories in various local bodies and prestigious Universities elections.
Bhardwaj said that thumping victory of Congress in the neighbouring Gurdaspur Lok Sabha bi-election clearly indicates that people have rejected Modi’s misguided economic policies and is a vote against his misgovenance at all levels. He described the victory as strong indicator of people reposing their faith in the leadership of Cong vice president Rahul Gandhi..
Pointing towards the plight of the people residing in the borders areas he said that this is an index of collective failure of the Centre and the State Governments to provide them economic and physical security. “We have all gathered here to share moments of happiness with these people and lift veil of gloom from their faces so that they can have joyous Diwali. The self-professed champions of bringing Ram Rajaya have not only deceived the people but brought disrepute to Lord Rama through sullying his name,” he observed.
Bhardwaj said that the anti-corruption plank of the BJP and its led Union Government has been blown to smithereens with expose of the party president Mr Amit Shah using his influence to get favours for his son’s failed company which was got loans simultaneously from different agencies and banks without even providing proper guarantees.
“How can a failed company which was ultimately shut after one year show an annual increase of profit by 16,000 percent? Even the topmost economists of the world are baffled by this model of business,” he said.
Several other local leaders also spoke on the occasion.
