JAMMU, May 1: In a signification development, the Central Government has agreed to include District Samba under the National Food Security Mission – Rice from the year 2020-21.
Giving the information, Navin K. Choudhary, Principal Secretary to Government, Agriculture Production Department informed that now total number of nine districts of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are convered under National Food Security Mission – Rice which will enable them to secure funding for promotion of rice cultivation. He further said that this decision has been taken by the Central Government on the request made by the Government of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
