Centre doing its best to send foreign aid material to states: Anurag Thakur

HAMIRPUR (HP), May 15:
Union Minister of state for finance and corporate affairs, Anurag Thakur said Saturday that the central government was doing its best to distribute the relief it was receiving from the foreign countries.
In a statement, he said that till date, more than 10,000 oxygen concentrators, 12,000 oxygen cylinders, 19 oxygen production plants, more than 6,400 ventilators / by-papes, 4.2 lakhs of Remedisivir supplements have been distributed / sent.
Thakur said that the work was being expedited on a war footing by the officials of the Ministry of Finance, according to its distribution and quota.
Anurag Thakur said, “The whole world is facing the terrible situation of Kovid-19. Today the whole world stands with India due to Modi’s efficient foreign policy.”
All the countries of the world are providing medical equipment and life-saving materials to India today, which are being evacuated in record time (8 to 10 minutes) by Customs Officers subordinate to the Ministry of Finance at airports and ports”.
He said, “The various Ministries / Departments of the Government of India collaborated uninterrupted to rapidly distribute the assistance from the world community to the States and Union Territories through a facilitated and systematic mechanism.
Since April 27, 2021 till date, a total of 10,796 oxygen concentrators, 12,269 oxygen cylinders, 19 oxygen production plants, 6,497 ventilators / by-pap, 4.2 lakhs of Remedisvir supplements have been delivered / dispatched via road and airways.
A continuous campaign for effective immediate allocation and streamlined distribution to the receiving States / Union Territories and Institutions is underway.
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), subordinate to the Ministry of Finance, has created a support cell to address questions related to Covid imports, so that there can be quick clearance of such goods from the Customs Department, the minister added. (UNI)
