SRINAGAR, Apr 7: The Department of Tourism Studies, Central University of Kashmir (CUK), signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Tourism & Travel, Central University of Jammu (CUJ).
The MoU was signed by the Vice-Chancellors of both the Universities in the presence of other officials. The purpose of the MoU is to promote mutual cooperation in education and research activities and establish a framework for programmes of exchange and collaboration in areas of interest for mutual benefit.
Head, Department of Tourism, CUK, Prof S Fayyaz Ahmad, threw light on the key areas of mutual interests viz. faculty exchange programmes, inter-departmental visits, collaborative research & consultancy, joint conferences/ workshops/ seminars/symposia etc.
Head, Department of Tourism & Travel, CUJ, Prof Deepak Raj Gupta gave a brief description about the areas of mutual collaboration.
Meanwhile, the Central University of Kashmir has taken a lead by launching integrated B.Sc-M.Sc programmes in Physics, Zoology and Biotechnology.
“The main aim and objective of starting the integrated courses is to train the students in a particular subject at a very young age so that they can excel in it accordingly,” officiating Vice-Chancellor Prof Mehraj-ud-Din said.
The University has also invited online applications for newly launched Post-Graduate Diploma courses in Information Security & e-Governance, Cyber Forensics & e-Governance, Online Journalism, Human Rights & Social Justice, Aviation & Hospitality Management and Guidance & Counselling.
The admission process to the Post-Graduate Programmes in Information Technology, English, Urdu, Tourism Management, Convergent Journalism, Mathematics, Economics, Education, Political Science, LLM, M.Ed and Integrated B.A L.L.B (5 year course) has also begun while as the admission to research programmes (Integrated MPhil/Ph.D) in Management Studies, Education, English, Tourism Management, Economics and Mathematics has also started. The process for admission to Ph D in Law has also begun.
The admission to the above programmes along with those offered by seven other participating Central Universities, would be made on the basis of Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET).
