Central team on IIT Jammu arriving today

JAMMU, June 1: A central team is visiting Jammu for assessing the feasibility of starting recently announced IIT here as early as possible.
The three-member central team, comprising  Joint Secretary in Technical Education Department,  Government of Indian,   Director IIT Delhi and a Technical expert Professor in Delhi University, is also scheduled to visit Panjgrian in Nagrota for inspection of one of three sites identified for setting up IIT campus, official sources informed the Excelsior.
Later, the team will also hold a joint meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, MoS Education Priya Sethi, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Pawan Kotwal and Commissioner Secretary Higher Education, J&K, for discussing the feasibility of making IIT functional as soon as possible, sources added.
