Central, State Govts ignored displaced Pandits: ASKPC

JAMMU, May 29:  All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) today said that Kashmiri Pandit community has always been ignored by the State and Central Governments.
The ASKPC, which held a meeting here, today under the chairmanship of its president, advocate, Ravinder Raina expressed concern over the governments apathy towards the community.
Raina said that governments have failed to rehabilitate the displaced K Ps in the Valley they belong to and have a documented history of over 5000 years.
He said the community had pinned high hopes in Prime Minister, Narendra Modi who visited the State recently to solve the problems of the people. But it is unfortunate that he did not make even a passing reference about displaced community.
Raina expressed the hope that the Prime Minister will think about the rehabilitation of the community at one place under Indian Constitution.
Speaking in the meeting, Dr.T K Bhat, general secretary of the organization appealed the Government for proper rehabilitation of KP community at one place.
R K Wangnoo ,vice president appealed the Central Government to reserve at least 10% job quota for migrant boys and girls in the Central Government and public sector undertakings. The meeting was attended by Handoo, Veena Gurtoo, Ravi Raina, S  K Raina, Tej Pandita and Kusum Koul.
