JAMMU, Dec 11: Member Parliament (MP), Rajya Sabha, Shamsher Singh Manhas reiterated that Central and State Governments are committed to upgrade the rural infrastructure of the State.
He stated this while addressing a function organized by local people at Chak Majra in tehsil Bishnah.
Local people highlighted various issues and problems being faced by them including poor road connectivity and bridges connecting various villages.
Road connectivity and two bridges between Bishnah and village Karyal is a long pending demand of the people which is not fulfilled by the successive regimes.
MP listened to the grievances being faced by the people. He assured the people of village Chak Majra that he will take up their issues with Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for redressal.
Manhas said Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started many schemes for rural areas. The financial budget presented by the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for current financial year was totally focused on rural areas, he said, adding that to improve the financial condition of rural people particularly farmers, road connectivity, proper irrigation facility and subsidized, loan facility for farmers have been launched.
On the occasion, MP announced Rs 10 lakh from his MPLAD to carry out development works in area so as to reduce the problems being faced by people of area.
Ex-MLA and BJP leader Ashwani Sharma also highlighted the works started by the PDP-BJP coalition in the State.
On the occasion, senior BJP leader Chander Mohan Sharma, Raj Singh and other prominent people of village Chak Majra and adjoining areas were also present.
