Central Secretariat officers’ delegation calls on Dr Jitendra

NEW DELHI, Mar 20: A delegation of Central Secretariat Services (CSS) Forum called on Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, called on Dr Jitendra Singh here and sought his intervention to ensure safeguards against any possible intimidation of lower rung officers in administration, as reported recently in the case of RVS Mani, former Under Secretary  in the Ministry of Home Affairs, who was allegedly forced to make alterations in the draft in the Ishrat Jahan case during the UPA Regime.
The delegation, led by CSS Forum Rakesh Kumar, submitted a memorandum to Dr. Jitendra Singh stating that the unfortunate case of RVS Mani is the result of two decades of continued attempt to undermine the status of Central Secretariat Officers.
The delegation also expressed concern over delay in processing the long pending cadre review recommendation of CSS which, at present, are under consideration of Finance Ministry.
The members of delegation, however, thanked Dr. Jitendra Singh for having forwarded the long pending proposal of cadre review of the CSS officials to the Department of Expenditure, thus facilitating  initiation of the process that had not been undertaken for a long time.  They also requested Dr. Jitendra Singh to kindly intervene in the Union Finance Ministry so that the process get expedited.
Dr. Jitendra Singh gave a patient hearing to the members of delegation and said, the Government will make every effort to strengthen the Central Secretariat Services because it is in the interest of efficient governance.
Among the members of delegation who met the Minister were Anil Kumar, Devnath  Sah, Rakesh Kumar, L.K. Trivedi, Sukhlal Meen, Navendra Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Aakash Jaishwal  and S.P. Tappo.
