CEC Wangyal on 3-day tour of Khaltsi

LEH, Mar 4: The Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Leh, Gyal P Wangyal today began his three day tour of Khaltsi sub division.
Today, on the first day, CEC along with Executive Councillor for Agriculture Phuntosg Stanzin, district and sub divisional level offices and engineers headed by District Superintending Engineer PWD, Leh Pardip Sharma and SDM, Khaltsi Tsering Motup visited Dha, Baima, Hanu Gongma, Hanu Yokma, Hanu Thang, Achinathang, Achinathang Gongma and Lehdo villages of Skurbuchan constituency.
Addressing gathering at all the villages, CEC Wangyal greeted people for getting only and long pending demand “UT for Ladakh” fulfilled under Modi Govt. “Now the people of Ladakh can dream speedy development and for that there will be no shortage of funds,” said Wangyal and added that approving abut Rs 6000 crore budget for Ladakh by Union Govt is a huge budget for Ladakh which will lead Ladakh in the golden era of development in every sphere of life. “Ladakh used to get only two percent share of budged during the erstwhile J&K Govt., now the people of Ladakh can dream big ,” he said.
Wangyal reminded that during erstwhile J&K Government, Ladakh used to get only Rs 56 crore whereas the capex budget of Hill Council Leh for the year 2020-21 is Rs 234 crore to carry out developmental activities in Leh district. Regarding drinking water facilities in villages, CEC aware people about PM Modi Jal Jeevan Mission ( JJM), which aims to provide tap water to all household of nation by 2024.
EC Punchok, who is also the area Councillor, highlighting the local issues and said that pending projects and new demands will be taken care of in the 2020-21 Capex Budet priority wise.
Some major demands projected by the people of Aryan valley, included; separate Counicllor for Aryan belt, home stay facilities, construction of new irrigation canals and restoration of old ones, bridges improvement of roads, drinking water facilities and many more.
CEC on the spot directed concerned engineers and officers to resolve minor issues and demands and assured to fulfill major demands priority wise.
