CEC meets Rijiju, seeks steps for promoting Ladakh’s Buddhist heritage

LEH, Dec 4: The Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh, Adv Tashi Gyalson, accompanied by Executive Councillor Stanzin Chosphel, met the Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, at his office in Parliament.
During the meeting, the CEC submitted a memorandum to the Minister, requesting his support in bringing the holy relics of Lord Buddha to Ladakh during the upcoming summer months. This move will surely be seen as a significant step towards promoting Ladakh’s rich Buddhist heritage and strengthening its cultural ties.
In addition to this, the CEC raised various issues pertaining to the minority communities in Ladakh. He expressed his deep gratitude to Kiren Rijiju for his ongoing support to the region and reiterated his hopes for continued collaboration in addressing the needs of the people.
The Minister assured that he would extend all possible support for the matters raised during the meeting, reinforcing his commitment to the development and welfare of Ladakh’s diverse communities.
