Leh, Apr 12: An online public grievance portal was launched by CEC, LAHDC in presence of ECs and Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC and other dignitaries.
This grievance portal will help the general public to lodge their complaints using internet as medium and can track the status of their complaint online. This portal is designed & developed by NIELIT with support from NIC, Leh to redress the grievances of the general public.
Deputy Commissioner Saugat Biswas said that this will help both general public and district administration to redress the grievances in more transparent way as it has provision to check the status of complaints at each stage. Later, all the guests and head of the departments were familiarized with the portal through a presentation given by engineers of NIELIT.
Rigzin Spalbar said it is extremely important to adopt new age technology to redress the grievances of general public though there are some issues regarding the reliability of internet and limited access in fur flung areas of the district. Nevertheless, it will be very effective in solving complaints in more transparent way especially among the youths who are more involved and familiar with internet.
Controlling Officer Phuntsog Toldan, NIELIT said launching of grievance portal was possible in such a short time due to persisting interest shown by Deputy Commissioner. He said this portal has certain checking mechanism to screen out the junk complaints so that only genuine complaints can be identified.
