KARGIL, Dec 8: To discuss varied concerns of Kargil, Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon called on Union Minister for Youth Services & Sports, Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Anurag Singh Thakur here today.
During the discussion with Union Minister, CEC raised the issues of Aakashvani Kargil and Doordarshan Kendra Kargil and requested for intervention given the importance of the centers in promotion and preservation of the culture of the region.
He also requested for the establishment of Sports Academy in the district to promote and nurture sports enthusiasts including young people to train them to participate in national and international events.
The Minister assured the CEC for consideration of the issues in the best possible interests of the district.
A memorandum of demands was also submitted to the Union Minister by the CEC Dr Jaffer.
