CEC inaugurates bridge, rest house

LEH, Jan 19: The Chief Executive Councilor (CEC), LAHDC Leh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal today dedicated a bridge to the people of Skindiyang village which was constructed by the PWD at a cost of Rs. 80 lakh under district plan.
Deputy Chairman LAHDC, EC Agriculture Stanzin Phuntsog, Councilor Khalsi Nawang Sherab, SDM Khaltsi Sachin Kumar, SE PWD and other district officers were also present on the occasion.
Congratulating the people of Skindiyang on the completion of this important bridge, the CEC said that this has immensely eased the approaching road to the village and would contribute a lot in the overall development.
On this occasion, the people of Skindiyang demanded for black-topping of the road from Khaltsi to Skindiyang besides construction of further road from Skindiyang to Lamaguru area.
They also demanded early repair of the village drinking water supply scheme and also appealed to the CEC to instruct concerned authorities for ensuring ration supply to the villagers through a departmental vehicle till the road up to the Ration Store is completed.
People also demanded completion of road black-topping upto Skindiyang Photang before the proposed religious congregation next summer.
The CEC gave on spot instructions to the concerned regarding public demands.
Earlier, a 2 minutes silence was observed for the victims of Khardongla avalanche.
En-route Skindiyang, CEC inaugurated a well furnished Rest House at Khaltsi consisting eight rooms with attached bathroom.
