JAMMU, Mar 12: The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has awarded A+ grade to Chandigarh Engineering College (CEC) a constituent college of CGC Landran.
CEC-CGC Landran has been conferred the A+ grade after being assessed on key parameters including Curricular aspects, Teaching-Learning and Evaluation, Research, Innovations and Extension, Infrastructure and Learning Resources, Student Support and Progression, Governance, Leadership and Management, Institutional Values and Best Practices.
Speaking on the occasion, Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC Landran said, “It is a matter of immense pride for us to have been bestowed the NAAC A+ grade. This exceptional milestone further cements CGC’s standing as one of the most credible, affordable and quality-oriented Higher Education Institution in the region. Getting this accreditation also opens up myriad avenues for collaborations and research partnerships within the country and globally.
CGC has been at the forefront of promoting research and innovation having instituted NITI Aayog backed ACIC RISE association to improve the startup ecosystem in the region. It has also been ranked among the top 10 HEIs pan India, for filing the maximum number of patents in a year for five consecutive years.
Established in 1994, NAAC is an autonomous entity that assesses and accredits Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) such as universities and colleges to derive an understanding of the quality status of the institution.
It undertakes a rigorous evaluation process taking into consideration an institution’s teaching methodologies, research output, infrastructure, governance and the overall quality of education being imparted, among others, before granting the rating.
