JAMMU, Apr 3: To redress the problems of the residents of Durga Nagar and adjoining localities a team of PHE Engineers led by Chief Engineer, PHE Munish Bhat visited O H T Durga Nagar and MU-10 Muthi Gaon and CPS Muthi.
He was accompanied by SE Mechanical, M P Singh, Executive Engineer Mechanical and Executive Engineer City Division, PHE besides concerned AEE and other engineers and concerned staff.
The CE took position of CPC Muthi and also called president Durga Nagar Welfare Committee, Roshan Lal Raina who had already presented a representation to M Raju, Commissioner cum Secretary for prolonging water supply in Durga Nagar for last 20 days.
The CE gave on spot directives to officers for improvement of water supply in Durga Nagar. He sanctioned 200 hp motor which was installed to lift enough water in less time. He also gave directives that water supply from Muthi Gaon to OHT Durga Nagar be provided at 12 noon to 6-30 pm and at night time the OHT Durga Nagar be filled if the power supply is not hampered.
He also gave directives that at least four to five supplies of Durga Nagar be covered in a single day. The CE also witnessed the position of the valves and leakages and directed the concerned AEE and JE to change them immediately to improve the water supply.
He also issued directives to AEE to find JDA land immediately, so that funds can be allotted to fuind a permanent solution to the problem.
