JAMMU, June 15: A seminar was held in Press Club here today on neo liberal policies and its impact on working class by J&K Coordination Committee of Trade Union (CCTU).
The seminar was presided over by Nirdosh Upal a senior Trade Unionist of the State. The other senior trade unionists of the State including Mohammed Maqbool president CCTU and national secretary All India State Government Employees Federation, Krishan Koshal, O P Khajuria, O P Samyal, Gurmeet Singh general secretary JKCCTU, Roop Lal Makhnotra, Girdhari Lal Chanda and Raj Kumar spoke on the occasion.
The speakers in one voice demanded scrapping of Pension Bill, abolishing of outsourcesing, casual and contractual system and ensuring of a fair wage policy as well as trade union and democratic right to the working class.
Participating in the seminar Mohammed Maqbool urged the working class to be ready to face the onslaught arising out of deepening economic and financial crisis of capitalism and intensify struggle unitedly.
He said the present day capitalism is facing now the most severe criticism in its history, which is even from the worst crisis of 1930 that finally resulted in the world War second. Presently entire world including India is facing the brunt of these crisis and the ruling classes on the dictates of IMF and World Bank is passing the burden of these crisis on the common masses in general and working class in particular, he added.
He said the present crisis emerging of wall street collapse is the direct outcome of neo-liberal policies pursued during the years at the behest of imperialist financial capital.
The seminar was held on the occasion of International Protest Day against capitalist exploitation. The call of which was given by World Social Forum and it was endorsed by All India State Government Employees Federation and other national trade unions.
