Srinagar, Apr 27: Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir (CCIK) today expressed serious concerns over the frequent fire incidents in the Srinagar areas, particularly the Downtown area.
While expressing solidarity with the affected owners, CCIK President Tariq Rashid Ghani said frequent fire incidents of the residential structures are a matter of great concern and the government needs to step in to take advance measures to avoid the losses.
Ghani said the government should station fire fighting tenders in Downtown areas as the area, he said, is witnessing frequent fire incidents.
CCIK also demanded immediate compensation for the affected families, while urging the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, DC Srinagar to personally intervene to rehabilitate the victim families.
