CCI organizing round table discussion on proposed start-up scheme

JAMMU, June 2: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing a round table discussion on the proposed start-up scheme for J&K on June 4 in collaboration with Central University Jammu. This developmental initiative is the first in the series of action points of the agenda of CII J&K State Council.
“We are working in a much focused way keeping long term goals for our State in our action agenda. Entrepreneurs are changing the global industrial map of the world in every space. Our State should not stay behind. We are aiming at implementation of this scheme as the game changer initiative for industry of the State. Several progressive States have implemented their start-up schemes and benefiting from the innovative ideas of the youth. It is a great platform where stakeholders from all sectors of the State will come and contribute to the scheme. CII has been advocating in favor of building favourable eco-system for startups in every state. We are encouraged by the pro-active and pragmatic vision of Hon’ble Chief Minister and Industries Minister”, said Sheikh Imran, Chairman, CII, J&K State Council.
Rahul Sahai, Vice Chairman, CII J&K State Council stated “If this scheme gets implemented, we will be able to mentor and nurture over 100 new startups every year from our State. Industry will help them through continuous mentoring. These entrepreneurs will further create more jobs for youth of the State. If we look at the potential of youth in our state, then it is amazing to note that we have more than 70 per cent youth under the age group of 35 years”.
The Round Table Discussion will be held in Central University Jammu, Sainik Colony campus, which will be attended by the Vice Chancellors of various Universities of the State, young entrepreneurs, industry leaders, banking and startup funding expert.
CII will further organize series of kick starter workshops and start-up clinics in all Universities and Colleges of the State to motivate young entrepreneurs.
