JAMMU, Jan 30: President, Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI) along with new team of office bearers met Dheeraj Gupta, Financial Commissioner (FC), Housing and Urban Development Department (H&UDD), and discussed with him various issues concerning traders.
Arun Gupta informed the FC that the occupants of shops in Mini Shopping Center, Rail Head Complex had applied for transfer of shops in their names and execution of lease deeds after depositing requisite fee for the same with JDA. He lamented that despite various representations made by them to the concerned authorities, JDA has not taken up the matter seriously, thus depriving the occupants of the lease deeds to be executed.
He also appraised the FC of worse conditions of the roads and drains in Transport Nagar Narwal. “The roads are broken, main holes are open and drainage system is absolutely not working and no sanitization facilities is available,” he added. Gupta also urged the FC to allow present occupants of shops at Warehouse Jammu to construct first floor over their shops to engage their children in business.
The CCI president further informed the FC that as per the lease deeds/rent deeds made by JDA with the occupants of the shops/halls at Bahu Plaza, there should be a rise of 10% of rent after every 3 year but practically on ground things are not clear.
The FC gave very patient hearing to the team of CCI and assured its members that all the issues taken up in the meeting shall be addressed shortly.
The CCI office bearers present in the meeting were Anil Gupta (senior vice president), Rajeev Gupta (junior vice president), Gaurav Gupta (secretary general), Rajesh Gupta (secretary) and Rajesh Gupta (treasurer).
