JAMMU, Feb 2: Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) has appealed to the Government to intervene and maintain status-quo till the matter of pharma traders is disposed of by Court as the matter is sub-judice.
In a statement issued, CCI President Rakesh Gupta said that J&K Medical Supplies Association has given mandate to non state-subject to procure and distribute medicines and medical equipment to Government Medical Colleges and Associated Hospitals with the purpose of centralizing the whole process of procurement.
He appealed to the Government to intervene and maintain status-quo till the matter is disposed of by Court as the matter is subjudice and till then no new shops be allowed to be opened.
He added that the process by which the tenders were manipulated and given to the non-state subjects which was the basic clause of the tender be enquired by CBI so that the culprits can be prosecuted and justice will be given to sufferers, he added.
