CBK files chargesheet against forest official in forgery case

SRINAGAR, July 1: Completing the investigation in 60 days, the Economic Offences Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir (CBK) today produced a charge sheet in a forgery case involving a Forest Department employee.
In a statement issued here, the CBK stated that the charge-report in case FIR No. 06/2025 under Sections 420, 468, 471 RPC of P/S Economic Offences Wing, Srinagar, was presented before the Court of Special Mobile Magistrate, Anantnag.
The person against whom the chargesheet has been filed are Bilal Ahmad Naikoo, son of Abdul Rehman Naikoo of Bidder, Kokernag, Anantnag, for his alleged involvement in entering a fake middle pass qualification certificate in his service records.
“A complaint was received at Economic Offences Wing, Srinagar (Crime Branch Kashmir) to the extent that Bilal Ahmad Naikoo…MTS Watcher in Forest Division Anantnag Range Kokernag… has managed the entry of fake middle pass qualification certificate in his service records,” the statement said.
It was also alleged that the certificate is fake and forged, CBK stated. As the complaint disclosed commission of cognizable offences punishable under Sections 420, 468, 471 RPC, case FIR No. 06/2025 was registered in P/S Economic Offences Wing, Srinagar.
“The investigation of the case was concluded as proved against the accused person for commission of offences under Sections 420, 468, 471 RPC,” the statement said.
As per the CBK, the investigation of the instant case has been carried out under the provisions of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023.
The case was concluded within a 60 days period and the charge-report (challan) of the instant case has accordingly been presented in the Court of Special Mobile Magistrate, Anantnag for judicial determination.
