JABALPUR: CBI today conducted searches at a vehicle factory, a military motor vehicle manufacturing company here, as well as the residence of its official, accused of providing tender details to a Kanpur-based private company in exchange of money, an official said.
Ashish Kumar, the charge man of material management section of the Jabalpur-based Vehicle Factory, used to provide details of tenders submitted by other companies to Sanjay Suri, director of Bullet Lock Company in Kanpur, in exchange of money, CBI Superintendent of Police Manish Surti said here today.
“Acting on a tip-off, the CBI also registered a case against the duo under section 120-B and under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and conducted searches at two places– the factory as well as the residence of Ashish Kumar,” Surti said.
He added that searches were also being conducted on the premises of the company in Kanpur and the residence of its director. “The searches were going on at present.”
During the investigation, the CBI has found that Puri had deposited Rs 46,000 cash in Shah’s bank account.
According to the CBI Superintendent, as per the initial estimates, Shah owns properties worth around Rs one crore.
