CBI raids 2 offices of SICOP, seizes record

JAMMU, Aug 10: The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) in coordination with Vigilance Department of the Industries and Commerce Department of Jammu and Kashmir today conducted raids at the offices of Small Scale Industries Development Corporation Limited (SICOP) at Bari Brahamana and Rail Head following complaints about irregularities in allotment of tenders.
Official sources told the Excelsior that record pertaining to allotment of tenders has been seized from both offices during raids for scrutiny.
The CBI, according to sources, had received complaints from different quarters about irregularities in allotment of certain tenders by the SICOP. The complaints were verified.
Sources said the CBI also took along with it the teams of Vigilance Department of the Industry and Commerce during raids on the SICOP offices at Bari Brahamana and Rail Head. In the raids, record pertaining to allotment of tenders has been seized for scrutiny.
“No arrests have been made during raids and only record pertaining to allotment of tenders has been seized,” they said, adding further investigations have been taken up.
